Dear PhD student,

You are invited to participate at the VI. Doctoral scientific international conference in 2017, organized by the European Faculty of Law and Graduate School of Government and European Studies. Doctoral conference will be held on 18 May 2017 at the European Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, Cankarjevo nabrežje 11.

The papers presented at the doctoral conference will be published in the Proceedings, and some selected papers will be published as scientific articles in the journal Dignitas.

Presentation of the papers will be held in slovenian or english language.

Deadline for the application: 3.3.2017
Deadline for the conference paper: 3.5.2017.

We invite you to take part in the International Conference on Legal Theory and Legal Philosophy. The conference will take place on 20 and 21 November, 2015, at the European School of Law (Cankarjevo nabrežje 11, Ljubljana) right in the heart of Ljubljana Old Town. The title of the conference is "In surch of Basic European Values".

Within the framework of a research project on the "Post-modern Challenges of Transnational Law for the European Union", run by prof. Matej Avbelj, the Graduate School od Government and European Studies with support of the Slovenian Research Agency organizes a Workshop "The Concept and Conceptions of Transnational and Global Law". Workshop will be held on Thursday,  June  18th, 2015 at 16:30h, on Cankarjevo nabrežje 11, Ljubljana, Slovenia (Lecture room P4).

On Friday, 23 January 2015, the Graduate School of Government and European Studies held its formal graduation ceremony for those graduates who successfully completed their studies during the 2014 calendar year. The ceremonial speaker was Jan Zobec, a Constitutional Court judge.

On Monday, 1 January 2015, the Jean Monnet Academic Forum took place where Rafal Manko, PhD, was a guest. Rafal Manko comes from the University of Amsterdam and is a professional associate of the European Parliament. The gave a lecture on the subject "Europeanisation of Civil Procedure: Treaty Basis, Existing Instruments, Perspectives for the Future."

The Graduate School of Government and European Studies invites you to take part in the Jean Monnet Academic Forum which will take place on 10 December at 17.00. The topic of the forum will be "Remembering Ivan Kramberger – the Benefactor from Negova". The guests will be Ivan Kramberger, a student of the GSG, and director Maja Weiss. Assist. Prof. Jernej Letnar Černič will be the moderator.

On 9 December 2014 at 18.00, the Graduate School of Government and European Studies (Oranžerija, Brdo pri Kranju) will host the 3rd Jean Monnet Academic Forum. Its guest will be Bojan Grobovšek, MSc, diplomat, publicist and current president of the Slovenian Association for International Relations. The Academic Forum will be dedicated to the presentation of his recently published book meaningfully titled: Zakaj Slovenija ni Švica? (Why isn't Slovenia Switzerland?) The debate, during which the author will also be answering to questions from the listeners, will be moderated by Assist. Prof. Matej Avbelj, PhD.

On 12 August 2014 at 5 p.m. the Jean Monnet Academic Forum on the European Convention on Human Rights Protection in Croatia and Slovenia took place at the Oranžerija in Brdo pri Kranju. The two guests were Goranka Lalić Novak and Vedran Dulabič from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb. Assist. Prof. Jernej Letnar Černič was the moderator.

On 25 November 2014 at 6 p.m., the Graduate School of Government and European Studies (Oranžerija, Brdo pri Kranju) will host the 2nd Jean Monnet Academic Forum titled: Slovenia and the European Union, on the path out of the economic crisis? The guest will be Assoc. Prof. Janez Šušteršič, PhD, who is eminently knowledgeable, in a both theoretical and practical sense, about the economic situation in Slovenia and the European Union.
